Live Video of There Is No Sin on YouTube
Portland musician Joshua Madore put together a show at Geno’s Rock Club in Portland, Maine.
There Is No Sin’s Troy Keiper performed with just an acoustic guitar. This was shot at the end of 2009.
You should check in with Joshua’s band now.
The video features a ramped-up version of “Replaced.” Want to hear the CD version? Here’s the official video:
CD Giveaway on Twitter
We’re giving away 10 CDs — free includes mailing! All you have to do is send There Is No Sin a tweet saying you want one! If you don’t already follow the band on Twitter, you’ll need to join obviously and we’re sorry about that.
Next week, we’ll ship out the CDs.
Some quick rules:
– Don’t send shipping info via Twitter. We’ll contact you via private message and we also won’t use your information for any purpose other than sending the CD.
– The contest is based on the time of the tweets. In the event that we have simultaneous tweets, we’ll do what we can. But it’s totally at our discretion. We’re weird like that. Sorry. And international shipping is fine.
Thanks and good luck!

Portland Maine Live with There Is No Sin
It was a rather intimate affair at Geno’s in Portland last week.
Joshua Madore and his band hosted a fun show. It was the last of 2009’s music for There Is No Sin. On the heels of the debut CD, it was fun to hear the music played live for the first time. The crowd was great and they were drinking heavily which I’m sure Geno’s enjoyed.
Troy played with a music stand. It interesting to see since the songs were so fresh. It was fun to hear how aggressive the songs became in a live venue. Almost like punk folk!
The next show for TINS will be at Blue after the holidays. We’ll give you the details asap.
Cartoons with Clip
Say hello to Mairead O’Liathain’s fun new animated video for There Is No Sin’s song Alter! The video was actually created on an iPhone. It was a painstaking process apparently.
Head over to YouTube for the free music video and say hello to Roger, the dog. Roger is a cute dog, but his fate seems to be taking a turn for the worse.
For more insight on the artist herself read our interview with her on There Is No Sin’s MySpace Blog.
Will Gattis at “Hell No On 1”
Portland has a few exceptional talents and Will Gattis is one of them. Most recently performing as the Gattis Band, his solo stop at yesterday’s Hell No On 1 Benefit Concert was just, plain crazy.
We’d love to seeĀ him put out a solo album featuring just him and his keyboard. Maybe record each track in single takes. Whatever it takes to let the honesty of his songwriting shine.
Will’s MySpace mentions Ben Folds as an influence and as much as the analogy may fit, it’d be an injustice to compare the two. Numerous plaintive singers play piano, but Will’s songwriting and creativity have a genuineness that others lack. Excepting maybe Bo Burnham.
Movie Soundtrack Released
We’ve helped to put out a new project video. Soundtrack by There Is No Sin in My Body. It’s an instrumental track from the latest CD.
Free movie download via Youtube.
Take a look. The movie is called “Makeup.” It stars Mairead O’Liathain and was filmed and edited by the legendary indie filmmaker Juan de Jalfrezi.
