Get Us Online at iTunes, Amazon, Napster and eMusic

classicwalkmanSome fans are just plain amazing. Chris from Chicago went out of his way to find our latest CD when it was released and had zero luck with iTunes.

Luckily, we’ve put down our Walkmen and IBM Selectrics long enough to push into the twenty-first century. As we promised, like a million years ago, you can now get your Clip Records music from Amazon, eMusic, Napster and  iTunes.

Ready? By clicking on the links below, you can help give these two fledgling start-ups a fighting chance (sorry, Adam).

There Is No Sin in My Body

What the Hell is an Eco-Pack?

Thanks to the folks at Utah’s ELS Productions, we’re offering the most unusual CD format we’ve ever seen. The new limited-edition There Is No Sin CD was our first offering with this super-granola packing.cd2

No plastic is used on the inside. The packages are lighter and ship cleaner. The entire thing is recyclable and mostly made of recycled material (except for a tiny foam dot). Of course, the CD can’t be recycled…but why would you want to do that?

For this limited edition edition, we’re wrapping these puppies in a black envelope with custom labeling on the outside. Very handmade. Impress your friends.

Interview with There Is No Sin in My Body

Sunday May 10, 2009
Our resident humorist Margaret Lyons avoided interview conventions today when she interviewed There Is No Sin in My Body’s Troy Keiper.rtk_04new

CR:  I’m talking to the front man of There Is No Sin in My Body, Troy Keiper.  So, what’s the origin of your band name?
TINSIMB: [silence, blank stare] I’m not sure how to answer that. Why are you lauging? read more…

Who Is There Is No Sin in My Body?

tinsimbAfter years of migrating between indie rock bands and solo acoustic projects, There Is No Sin’s Troy Keiper spent 2008 recording a number of late-night studio sessions in four different locations. Lyrically, it seems like a concept album. Each song is tied together by the unfashioned performances, many of which are captured first takes.

Like vignettes, these songs often clock in at punk rock lengths; telling abstract parts of a story in two minutes. Listeners have likened the tracks to Iron & Wine, Elliott Smith, the Mountain Goats or Bright Eyes, but it’s not easy to pigeonhole this music. It’s a completely different beast.

Check out Margaret Lyon’s interview with Troy here. What makes it funny, is that they thought they could pull off the interview without humor. Didn’t work on that level, luckily it served for good entertainment.

Online Store News

cdsOur online store for direct media and merchandise is ready to go. Bad news is that we’re waiting on the There Is No Sin in My Body CD, which will be out early June.

The pressing of the CD was delayed because of artwork issues with the printing. We chose to go with a newer CD format. It features larger pages and little plastic packaging, so it’ll be unique and fun to look at. Like a mini coffee table book.

Of course, we’ll have  iTunes, Amazon, eMusic and Napster ready to go for the release as well.
